When a team member calls in sick, the day doesn't fall apart
Customers who said "yes, I'd see another pro if mine is out" get automatically offered an open slot with someone else. The day fills itself in.
Customers opt in when they book
At booking, customers see a small checkbox: "If my pro is out that day, offer me an appointment with another available pro." It's off by default — nobody gets reassigned without saying yes first.
You mark them unavailable, the system handles the rest
When a team member calls in (sick day, family emergency, anything), you mark them unavailable for the day in two clicks. Every customer who opted in gets a message: "We can keep your appointment at the same time with [another pro]. Want to keep it, or reschedule?" One tap to confirm. One tap to push it to another day.
The customers who didn't opt in still get handled
For customers who said "no, only my pro," they get a different message — a polite heads-up that their pro is out, with the next few open slots on later days. No customer hears about it from the front desk after they've already arrived.
Every swap is on the record
You can see every reassignment after the fact: who was originally booked with whom, who they ended up seeing, when the swap was offered, and whether the customer accepted. No silent changes, no "wait, who switched my booking?"
Why it matters
The day a team member calls in is the single biggest hole in your week. Calling each customer to rebook is hours of work, and you only catch a fraction of them in time. This catches all of them — automatically — and most of them stay on the books.
Four things every Atelier tenant gets, on day one
- A brand-fit URL. Pick a vertical-branded subdomain on day one (yourshop.atelier.salon, .tattoo, .spa, .dance, .fitness, .golf, .dog, .pet, .skin, or seated.studio). Connect a domain you own any time — no upgrade tier.
- Every feature in the box. Forms, text marketing, loyalty, multi-location, staff profiles, blog, two-way calendar sync, no-show protection, waitlists, resource scheduling — included on day one. Most platforms charge separate monthly add-on fees for each, or lock them behind a higher-tier plan.
- Unlimited everything. Locations, staff, services, customers. Same bill with five team members as with fifty.
- A free directory listing. Every tenant is auto-listed in the public Atelier directory. New customers find you there and click straight through to your booking URL — no commission, no per-booking fee, no marketplace cut.
